BROCHURE ON CHILD SUPPORT FOR EMPLOYERS

Employers are increasingly involved with the child support enforcement program. To improve employer support of the program, we prepared a brochure about child support for employers. The brochure focuses on the role of employers in the child support enforcement program. This includes: income assignment, direct interstate wage withholding, new hire reporting, health insurance withholding, electronic funds transfer and payment through the Family Support Registry.

In October 1997, the brochure was mailed to approximately 15,000 small employers who receive bills from the Family Support Registry. It was were also sent to approximately the same number of larger employers with 20 or more employees.

A copy of the brochure appears in Appendix A to this report.
