Fort Belvoir residents whose homes are scheduled for
demolition under the post’s Residential Communities Initiative will receive
first priority for placement in new homes.
Herryford Village will be the first neighborhood on Fort Belvoir built and
managed through a partnership between the Army and Clark Pinnacle, which is a
joint venture of Clark Realty Capital of Bethesda, Md., and Pinnacle, an
American Management Services Company in Seattle.

Gate closed to outbound traffic starting October 25 |
Tulley Gate will be open to inbound traffic only
beginning Oct. 25.
Drivers should use another gate to exit the installation from Oct. 25 to Dec. 6,
while construction workers install hydraulic vehicle barriers and steel security
barriers.

Fort Belvoir hit hard by flu vaccine shortage |
The national shortage of the influenza vaccine is
expected to affect millions of people this winter, and the Department of Defense
will be one of the public institutions hit the hardest.
The England-based company Chiron Corp., which produced flu vaccines, was shut
down temporarily by British health officials earlier this month because of
contamination found in the plant.
