    High Cholesterol (Hyperlipidemia)

    A research study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational formulation combining niacin extended release (ER) and simvastatin in patients with abnormal cholesterol disorders. Volunteers 21 or older who have a history of elevated cholesterol and do not have an allergy or hypersensitivity to niacin or statin medications may be eligible. Research site located in St. Louis, Mo.

    Breast Cancer

    A research study of a combination of medications for patients with advanced breast cancer previously treated with an anthracycline and a taxane. Volunteers who have locally advanced or metastatic cancer originating in the breast who have had no more than two prior chemotherapy regimens including those administered in the neoadjuvant or adjuvant setting may be eligible. Research site located in Boston, Mass.

    Contraception

    A research study of an experimental Adiana procedure for permanent contraception. Female volunteers who have at least one child, who desire permanent contraception, and are in an exclusive relationship with one partner may be eligible. Research site located in Durham, NC.
