A research study to compare the efficacy and safety of two medications to treat complicated intra-abdominal infections in hospitalized patients. Hospitalized volunteers 18 or older who are scheduled for or have had a laparotomy, laparoscopy or percutaneous drainage of an intra-abdominal abscess may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

A research study to measure an investigational medication's ability to control asthma versus a marketed product in pediatric patients whose asthma is worsened by activity or exercise. Volunteers 4-11 years old who have been diagnosed with persistent asthma for three months or longer may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

A research study to evaluate an investigational medication to treat eczema in infants, and to learn if it can help prevent or delay the onset of asthma. Babies with eczema and a family history of allergic diseases have a 50 percent chance of developing asthma. Children between 3-18 months of age who have had eczema for less then three months, and have a parent or sibling with a history of eczema, allergies, or asthma may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.
