The
Historic Raven Ranger Station has been the beneficiary of
Forest Service preservation specialists, the Community for
a Great Northwest, the Kootenai Forest Heritage Program and
the Montana State Historic architect along with innumerable
community volunteers to bring the circa 1932 Civilian Conservation
Corps building back to life. The rehabilitation efforts have
garnered a Preserve America Presidential Award as depicted
above, from left to right, President Bush, Bruce Vincent of
Provider Pals, Bob Castaneda, Kootenai Forest Supervisor,
and Laura Bush. Additionally, the first national Heritage
Program award for Excellence was awarded to Becky Timmons
by Chief Dale Bosworth.
