Veterans' Affairs Committee

The Veterans' Affairs Committee has legislative and oversight responsibility for veterans' benefits and services.

The committee has juridiction in the areas of:

1. Programs within VA.
2. Court of Veterans Appeals.
3. The Readjustment Counseling Service which maintains Vet Centers to deal with psychological issues affecting veterans.
4. Funding levels for VA health care.
5. Programs to enable VA to recruit and retain top quality doctors and nurses.
6. The consequences of exposure to radiation and Agent Orange.
