    Prostate Cancer

    A research study to compare an investigational drug versus placebo on bone loss in men with prostate cancer who are receiving androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). Men 18 and older who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and have no metastases at the start of ADT, and who are beginning or have begun ADT for an intended duration of at least 12 months before the study may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

    Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

    A research study using two combinations of different medications already approved to lower blood pressure. The study is designed to see if these medications reduce occurrence of future health complications. Volunteers 55 or older who have high blood pressure and/or had heart problems, circulation problems, kidney problems, stroke, or diabetes may be eligible. Research site located in Portland, Ore.

    Chronic Back Pain

    A research study to determine the efficacy of a Buprenorphine Transdermal System patch in patients with clinically diagnosed lower-back pain. Volunteers 18 or older who have clinically diagnosed lower-back pain and are currently taking and tolerating an opioid regimen with or without non-opiod analgesic medication may be eligible. Research site located in Phoenix, Ariz.
