AREA MEASUREMENT INFORMATION IN THE 1990 CENSUS DATA PRODUCTS
FREE 3pp. Available from Geography Division, Bureau of the Census, Washington, DC 20233-7400 301-457-1099 Not available on microfiche
Describes how area measurement information for 1990 geographic entities differ from the identification and presentation of these data for previous decennial censuses. Among the changes in 1990 are area measurement figures for every geographic entity (including areas as varied as states, counties, and census tracts) and all bodies of water. Previous censuses had minimum population requirements for the measurement of area data and included measurements only for inland water.
