Engineering Research Center for Neuromorphic Systems Engineering

Pietro Perona, California Institute of Technology, EEC-9402726

The Center for Neuromorphic Systems Engineering at the California Institute of Technology occupies approximately 40,000 square feet of space in the Gordon and Betty Moore Laboratory, as well as a few thousand square feet of space in the Thomas Engineering Building and the Beckman Behavioral Biology building. The ERC maintains specialized laboratories for VLSI design, vision processing, collaborative robotics research, neural prosthetics, MEMS system design and fabrication, and electrooptics research. The MEMS and collaborative robotics facilities are currently used by industrial partners of the CNSE. The other facilities can be made available to any industrial partner by negotiation with the Caltech Office of Technology Transfer. These various facilities represent an investment of over $10,000,000 (using NSF, NIH, DARPA, corporate, and Caltech funding).
