Greenfield Coalition for New Manufacturing Education

Dr. Donald R. Falkenburg, Wayne State University, EEC-9630951

The Greenfield Learning System (GLS) is a unique, web-based technology platform that can be used to distribute Greenfield learning products to both non-traditional and conventional engineering classrooms. In May, 2002, the Metal Forming Module developed by Professor Taylan Altan, of Ohio State University, debuted.

With the help of Greenfield professional staff, Dr. Altan, the former director of the NSF Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Net Shape Manufacturing, adapted 10 years of ERC research on the simulation of metal forming to the GLS platform. The outstanding product raises the level of instructional quality in metal forming to a world class standard.
