Mr. Gayden Thompson, Deputy Under Secretary of the Army (International Affairs) and retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Nels Running, Director, Department of Defense Commemorations Committee, will give a briefing on the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration immediately following the regularly scheduled DoD news briefing at 1:30 p.m. EDT Thursday, June 8, 2000, in the Pentagon, Room 2E781.

The commemoration will begin with an opening ceremony on Sunday, June 25, 2000, at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and officially close on Nov. 11, 2003.
