Thirty-five National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) Programs Certified by the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR)In 1997, NAACCR instituted a program that annually reviews member registries for their ability to produce complete, accurate, and timely data. The registry certification program then recognizes those registries meeting the highest standards of data quality with Gold or Silver recognition certificates for each data year. For the 2003 certification process, the following 35 CDC-supported NPCR registries achieved these high standards for their 2001 data (these states are denoted in green on the map below): Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. For lists of registries achieving certification in previous data years, please visit the NAACCR Web site.*
