The Development
of
Acute Exposure Guideline Levels (AEGLs)
A collaborative effort of
the public and private sectors worldwide
Acute Exposure Guideline Levels, or AEGLs, describe the dangers
to humans resulting from short-term exposure to airborne chemicals. The National
Advisory Committee for AEGLs is developing these guidelines to help
both federal and local authorities, as well as private companies,
deal with emergencies involving spills, or other accidental
exposures.
