Federal Reserve Banks Announce Changes to Increase
Efficiency in Check Services as Shift from Check to Electronics Continues
The Federal Reserve Banks announced changes to increase the efficiency of check-
processing operations and will discontinue check processing operations at nine sites. Streamlining the check
infrastructure is part of the Reserve Banks’ strategy to improve efficiency; for example, they are also launching new
products and services to support the implementation of the Check 21 Act in October 2004. Read
