Comparative Maps

The human-mouse comparative maps previously available at this URL are out of date. They can still be accessed in this archive.

We are using this page to point you to dynamic views of comparative maps available via NCBI's Map Viewer, and to remind you of other resources at NCBI of interest to comparative genomics. These resources include:

  • HomoloGene -- a system for automated detection of homologs among the annotated genes of several completely sequenced eukaryotic genomes.
  • TaxPlot (human, mouse, rat) -- a tool to compare the similarity of proteins of one genome (the query) to those of two other species.
  • COGs/KOGs -- Clusters of Orthologous Groups / euKaryotic Orthologous Groups PubMed

Click on a chromosome designation in the following table to display an arbitrary selection of 50 genes on the base (master) chromosome. You may want to focus on regions of interest by: (More details in Map Viewer Help Documentation)

  • clicking on the ideogram at the left and selecting a zoom level
  • using the zoom box above the ideogram
  • clicking on the diagram under the Genes_seq map title and selecting a zoom level
You can also reconfigure your display by using Map Viewer's Maps & Options window.
