NSF Awards $37.2 Million in Grants to Study BE
To better understand the interrelationships among living things from molecular structures to genes to ecosystems-and how they interact with their environment-the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded $37.2 million in 38 research grants to scientists and engineers across the country.

FY 2004-05 Biocomplexity in the Environment Competition
A new program solicitation has been released for special competitions in Biocomplexity in the Environment for FY 2004 and FY 2005. In FY 2004, proposals are invited in five areas: (a) Dynamics of Coupled Natural and Human Systems (CNH); (b) Coupled Biogeochemical Cycles (CBC); (c) Genome-Enabled Science and Engineering (GEN-EN); (d) Instrumentation Development for Environmental Activities (IDEA); and (e) Materials Use: Science, Engineering, and Society (MUSES). In FY 2005, proposals are invited in two areas: CNH and MUSES.
