10/25/2004 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. (AFPN)  -- Nearly 1,000 people are gathering here Oct. 26 to 29 for the third annual Air Force Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance summit.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper will highlight a slate of speakers who will share insights and visions for what has often been described as the most important component of force transformation. Technological advances and integration in these areas provide information dominance for U.S. and coalition forces, and that is the focus of this summit, organizers said.

“I look forward to the opportunity to showcase our efforts to hone and integrate (these) capabilities, as well as hear from our senior leaders,” said Electronic Systems Center commander Lt. Gen. Chuck Johnson. The center, along with the Air Force Office of Warfighting Integration and the Paul Revere Chapter of the Air Force Association, are holding the summit.

Several panels have been analyzing key topics during the past year and will present their results at the summit. One of the panels, composed of leading defense contractors, will present an industry outlook, and both industry and the government will show off the latest innovations.

Gen. Gregory S. Martin, commander of Air Force Materiel Command, will deliver the keynote address Oct. 27, and Marine Corps Gen. James Cartwright, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, will speak Oct 28, which has been dubbed “Joint Day” because of its cross-service focus.
