Scavenger Hunt!

Overview

By navigating through France in the Coins of the World feature, students will learn about France's history, culture, and currency (both past and present).

Activity

Note:  For this activity, you may need to book the computer lab in your school in advance.

Have students assemble themselves in groups of two or three.  Distribute one Scavenger Hunt Instructions handout and one Scavenger Hunt Questions handout per group.  Each group will need access to a computer.

Review directions with the students.  Remind them that it will be very important for them to follow the instructions, as this is a competition between groups.

As groups finish this project, collect from each group their passport (printed out) and their answers to the scavenger hunt handout questions.  The winning group will have earned the most coins on their passport and will have all of their scavenger hunt questions correct.

Extension

Once students have navigated through the Coins of the World: France feature, challenge them to visit the Japan feature and create their own scavenger hunt.  See if the class can follow their instructions and answer their questions!
