Response and Prevention Branch

Our Mission is to protect the health and welfare of the residents and environment of Region 6 from the release of oil or hazardous substances.

The Response & Prevention Branch of the Superfund Division consists of four teams.

The Emergency Readiness Team, the Removal Site Team and the Oil Team are responsible for emergency response activities, on-scene monitoring and/or direction of clean-ups and emergency removals of oil/hazardous materials. These teams are also responsible for developing and implementing the Regional and U.S. / Mexico Border contingency planning for emergencies, Community Right-to-Know, and the Oil Pollution programs. The fourth team, the Site Assessment Team, is responsible for performing assessments, investigations and scoring for National Priorities List (NPL) ranking of hazardous waste sites.
