The full texts of all final reports by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for health hazard evaluations from 1990 to 1996 are being issued on a new CD-ROM set.
The two-disc CD-ROM provides easy access to information previously available, as a set, only in thousands of pages of printed reports. NIOSH health hazard evaluations (HHEs) are conducted at work sites in response to requests from employers, workers, or state agencies. Final reports from these evaluations provide recommendations to employers, workers, and agencies for addressing the concerns raised in the HHE request.
"HHEs offer unique technical assistance for addressing complex health and safety problems at individual work sites, but the findings from these evaluations also serve as a fundamental resource for health and safety professionals in general," said NIOSH Director Linda Rosenstock, M.D., M.P.H. "HHE final reports incorporate data that often help the research community better understand and address difficult and emerging occupational health concerns."
The two-disc set makes it faster and easier for health and safety professionals, employers, workers, students, and other audiences to access and search the 505 NIOSH health hazard evaluation final reports for 1990 through 1996, many of which are no longer available from NIOSH. The discs are searchable through a Windows-based software program, Pundit, contained in the CD-ROM.
