Office of the Assistant Secretary
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Aging provides leadership
and guidance on policy, programs and management across AoA. As
the senior career official in AoA, the Deputy Assistant Secretary
for Policy and Programs directs the day-to-day activities of the
office to coordinate the programs and functions of AoA’s
Headquarters and Regional Centers.

Because of the commitment of Assistant Secretary Josefina Carbonell
to producing and measuring the results Older Americans Act programs
produce for elder Americans, the AoA Office of Evaluation is located
in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Aging. The Office
of the Assistant Secretary also includes the AoA Executive Secretariat,
which coordinates consistent AoA review and response to correspondence
and to program, policy and management documents from all sources.
