601 East 12th Street, Room 1731 Welcome to the Region VII Administration on Aging (AoA) web site. This web site includes information designed for Older Americans and their families as well as those individuals who provide services which enrich the lives of older persons and support their independence. Over the past three decades, AoA has developed a nationwide network of State and Area Agencies on Aging and Tribal Organizations. These Agencies plan, develop and support comprehensive in-home and community services which create opportunities for active older persons and meet the needs of older persons at risk of losing their independence. In many communities across the Nation, older people now have access to information and referral services, job and volunteer opportunities, senior center and day care center programs, transportation, a nationwide congregate and home delivered meals program, and homemaker and home health aide services. Older persons also have legal services, nursing home ombudsmen services, and counseling programs to assist them if they are abused, neglected or exploited. Our web site provides linkages with the AoA funded State and Area Agencies and Tribal Organizations in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. We have also included linkages to the national AoA web site in Washington and the Eldercare Locator designed to identify community resources for seniors nation-wide. We hope that the information is useful and that you will contact us about other areas of interest to you. Staff Assignments: Larry
