Category 1 includes just about any piece of equipment that could be used to evolve the agency's telecommunications infrastructure. Most of the industry partners in this category provide thousands upon thousands of separate Contract Line Items. These provide an extensive catalog of the major telecommunications equipment manufacturers including Avaya, Lucent, Cisco and Nortel, plus over 400 others!
Some typical equipment and associated services would include multiplexers, video codecs, voice mail systems, channel service units, concentrators, routers, switches, gateways, firewalls, repeaters, virtual private network equipment, site preparation, power systems, alarms, microwave systems, wiring, cabling and cross connects.
