Numbering System
- We are the Program Managers for the National Fire Incident Reporting
System for DOD
- We manage and maintain the DOD Fire Incident Reporting System (DFIRS)
and provide fire-reporting support for all services
- We collect, analyze, and prepare fire reports and submit computerized
summaries of fire data to DOD as well as preparing the annual fire loss
report for the Navy and Marine Corps
- We research fire data to determine causal factors and identify trends
to seek solutions to common fire problems
- We are a central information source for the exchange of
information between Navy Region and Headquarters Marine Corps
personnel, fire protection engineers and chiefs
- We do fire-safety surveys and assist visits, coordinating with Navy
and Marine Corps fire-protection managers
