Technology Project
The objective is to continue the development of the technological resources
and infrastructure of the MidContinental Region. Information will be
provided to all members of the network that will assure that they have
basic connectivity to the Internet and can take advantage of NLM and
NN/LM resources and services. The RML website will provide links to Internet
service providers in the region, with an emphasis on the increasing number
of free Internet service providers. Innovative technologies and resource
will be identified and communicated to the region. A particular focus
will be promoting new models of scholarly communication like PubMed Central
and SPARC publishing initiatives.
Kansas Outreach
The main objective of the Kansas Liaison is to promote the use of the
products and services of the National Library of Medicine and the National
Network of Libraries. This is through exhibiting at library and health
conferences in the State and by offering classes. The liaison, health
professionals and librarians in Kansas work collaboratively to contribute
to the work of the MidContinental Region's special projects liaisons.
