Abstract:
A strain of the fungus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides has been discovered that can be used as a natural herbicide against coffee senna and sicklepod weeds when applied as a postemergent. Under the invention, compositions of the fungus offer a way to develop biologically-based herbicidal controls. While the invention is an alternative to expensive chemical sprays, it offers environmtal advantages to contorlling these weeds.
