The USDA Forest Service, Fire and Aviation Management, was the recipient of the prestigious Miles Romney Achievement Award for innovation in Personal Property management.  This award was given to the Forest Service to recognize the unique and innovative nature of the Federal Excess Property Management Information System (FEPMIS). 

The USDA Forest Service Fire and Aviation Management, in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters, has created an automated property management system that provides full accountability and management functions for property acquired through the Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) program.  This system, the Federal Excess Property Management Information System (FEPMIS), allows property managers at both State and Federal levels to automate all aspects of property management, from acquisition through disposal.
