Electronic Government and Technology Usability University

The Usability Solutions Group (USG) offers in-depth training in usability research, technologies, design and evaluation. Usability University, co-sponsored by the General Services Administration (GSA) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is a unique federal resource for training and professional development in topics that improve the usability, access, and usefulness of e-government applications.

Usability University offers:

  • Free usability seminars and low cost usability training courses in such topics as:
    • Strategies and best practices for designing great webpages;
    • How to do usability tests;
    • How to move forms from print to the web;
    • Writing for the web; and
    • Older adults and the web.
  • Hands-on demonstrations of new products and services that have proven to increase usability and reduce time and money spent on federal websites.
  • Research references and recommendations for usability practitioners.
  • Opportunities to interact with other federal staff seeking solutions to similar issues.
