Susan Harwood Training Grants Program Background Information OSHA awards grants on a competitive basis through its Susan Harwood Training Grant Program. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations to provide training and education programs or to develop training materials for employers and workers on the recognition, avoidance, and prevention of safety and health hazards in their workplaces. OSHA selects the safety and health topics and holds a national competition to award grants in two different categories:
Eligibility Nonprofit organizations, including community and faith-based organizations, that are not an agency of State or local government, are eligible to apply. State and local government supported institutions of higher education are also eligible to apply. 2005 Request for Grant Applications OSHA will post the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program announcement and grant solicitation for fiscal year 2005 at this location on the OSHA web-site as soon is the information is available. Applying For A Grant OSHA has an annual competition for grants. The announcement and application package are published in the Federal Register. You will need the Federal Register and the forms listed below to apply for a grant. The May 18, 2004, Federal Register Notice listed below is the grant announcement and application package for the 2004 solicitation that closed on June 18, 2004.
