COLORADO PERSONALIZED EDUCATION FOR PHYSICIANS


Date Established: 1990

Origin/Rationale: "To provide a personalized approach to physician education that assesses the needs of the physician, and identifies appropriate mechanisms to address these needs".

Goal: "Assist physicians in addressing peer review concerns as well as returning to practice after an absence from clinical practice".

Curriculum: Varies according to individual needs.

Basic Format: 2-3 day assessment focusing on medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, conceptualization, and communication followed by 6-12 months of focused education.

Accreditation/Certification: None.

Program Length: Varies.

Program Cost: $7500-$15,000; varies.

Physician Placement: Not part of our process.

Evaluation: Post-test given after completion of education plan.

Mode of Funding: Participant pays; some subsidization costs provided by other organizations.
