Section 515 - Appeals Process
Process for Correcting Information Published by GSA and Disseminated to the Public The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued governmentwide guidelines under Section 515 of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2001 (Public Law 106-554). OMB's guidelines were published in the Federal Register in Volume 66, No 189 on Friday, September 28, 2001, and updated in Volume 2, No. 67 on Thursday, January 3, 2002. Each federal agency is responsible for issuing its own Section 515 guidelines. As a result, the General Services Administration has developed corresponding information quality guidelines. How can I correct information that is subject to the Information Quality Guidelines? If you want to correct information from GSA which is subject to the Information Quality Guidelines, please follow the procedure for correcting GSA information. Do not seek correction to personal information or individual accounts through the procedures described below. 6. Privacy Act Statement. We are authorized to collect the information you provide under section 515 of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2001 (Public Law No. 106-554, codified at 44 U.S.C. § 3516, note). It is needed to process your request and allow us to reply accordingly. You do not have to furnish the information, but failure to do so may prevent your request from being processed. The information you furnish is almost never used for any purpose other than to process and respond to your request. However, we may disclose information to a congressional office in response to an inquiry made on your behalf to the Department of Justice, a court, or other tribunal when the information is relevant and necessary to litigation, or to a contractor or another Federal agency to help accomplish a function related to this process. 7. Paperwork Reduction Act Statement. This information collection meets the clearance requirements of 44 U.S.C. § 3507, as amended by Section 2 of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. You are not required to answer these questions unless we display a valid Office of Management and Budget control number. We estimate that it will take you about 15 minutes to gather the necessary facts and answer the questions.
