Q: What guidance does FDA have for manufacturers of Shrimp?

A: Standards set minimum requirements for canned wet-pack shrimp (21 CFR 161.173). Canned shrimp must also comply with the regulations for low-acid canned foods. There is also a standard of identity for frozen raw breaded shrimp (21 CFR 161.175) and frozen raw lightly breaded shrimp (21 CFR 161.176).
