Chairwoman Mikulski noted that the appropriations allocations
were generally austere and that the Subcommittee had
$2 billion less to work with than the President requested.
Both Senator Mikulski and Senator Bond commented on
the bipartisan nature of the bill and their disappointment
in not being able to move NSF's funding on a doubling
path.
The full Senate Appropriations Committee will meet
on Thursday, July 25 to complete the markup on the
bill, at which time details from the committee report
will be available.
