National Weather Service flood stage for NEW GAGE downstream of Pompton Lakes dam is 9 feet. The
downstream gage can not record a gage height less than 5.45 feet. The NEW downstream gage is
presently operated for flood-warning purposes and water-quality monitoring.
The estimated flood stage at the OLD GAGE upstream of Pompton Lakes dam is 12.5 feet.
The OLD GAGE located upstream of the dam provides the official records of discharge presented in
the USGS annual water data reports.
Due to construction work water-quality readings
are not being transmitted. Real-time discharges reported for this gage maybe somewhat in error due to
construction work going on at the Pompton Lakes Dam.
