IMPORTANT NOTICE -- Potential discontinuation of this stream-gaging station.
Due to shortages in the operating funds for state agencies during 2004 and following state fiscal years, several stream
gages may have to be discontinued, including this one. These gages, several of which have been operational for 50 or more
years, have been used in statewide analyses to determine flooding or drought probabilities. Data collected at these sites
have also been used for such things as highway bridge/culvert design and water-supply planning and management. USGS has
matching funds (up to 50% of the operational cost) to continue the operation of this stream gage. Any Federal/State/local
entity interested in continuing the operation of this gage should contact Bob James at 410-238-4205 (e-mail rwjames@usgs.go
