STATION.--03029000 CLARION RIVER AT RIDGWAY, PA LOCATION.--Lat 41`25'15", long 78`44'10", Elk County, Hydrologic Unit 05010005, at bridge on State Highway 948 in Ridgway, 300 ft below the mouth of Elk Creek. DRAINAGE AREA.--303 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1940 to current year. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,354.88 ft above sea level. REMARKS.--Flow regulated since June, 1952 by East Branch Clarion River Lake and at low flow by industrial plant above station. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite telemeter at station. FLOOD STAGE.--NOAA, National Weather Service river forecast station flood stage provided to USGS April 1999 is 16 feet. COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. |
