Station operated in cooperation with Ross County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers .
 03231500 SCIOTO RIVER AT CHILLICOTHE, OH
 LOCATION.--Lat 39°20'29", long 82°58'16", Ross County, Hydrologic
     Unit 05060002, on right bank at north end of Chillicothe, 1,400
     ft downstream from Bridge Street bridge, 7.4 mi upstream from
     Paint Creek, and 15.4 mi down-stream from Deer Creek.
 DRAINAGE AREA.--3,849 mi².
 PERIOD OF RECORD.--December 1913 to September 1914 (gage heights
     and discharge measurements only). October 1920 to current year.
     Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1305.
     Gage-height records collected in this vicinity since 1907 are
     contained in reports of the National Weather Service.
 REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 803: 1929(M). WSP 1908: Drainage area.
 GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 594.05 ft above sea
     level. Prior to Sept. 30, 1914, nonrecording gage at site 1,300
     ft upstream of different datum. Apr. 1, 1921, to Aug. 6, 1930,
     nonrecording gage, at site 1,400 ft upstream at present datum.
     Aug. 7, 1930, to Sept. 30, 1969, water-stage recorder 900 ft
     upstream at same datum.
 REMARKS.--Water-quality data collected at this site 1950-51, 1965-1981,
     November 1985 to current year. Flow regulated by 6 reservoirs 36 mi 
     to 91 mi upstream from station. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 
     satellite telemeter at station.
