USGS 04202000 Cuyahoga River at Hiram Rapids OH

Station operated in cooperation with Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water.
 04202000 CUYAHOGA RIVER AT HIRAM RAPIDS, OHIO
 LOCATION.--Lat 41°20'26", long 81°10'01", in T.5 N., R.7 W., Portage County, 
     Hydrologic Unit 04110002, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on 
     Winchell Road at Hiram Rapids, 0.6 mi downstream from Black Brook.
 DRAINAGE AREA.--151 mi².
 PERIOD OF RECORD.--August 1927 to December 1935 (published as "near Hiram"), 
     October 1944 to current year.
 REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1054: 1945. WSP 1437: 1931. WSP 1912: Drainage area.
 GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,087.46 ft above sea level. Prior to 
     Aug. 26, 1927, nonrecording gage and Aug. 26, 1927, to Dec. 31, 1935, 
     water-stage recorder, at site 2.8 mi downstream at different datum. 
     Oct. 20, 1944, to Oct. 22, 1946, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.
 REMARKS.--Flow regulated by East Branch Reservoir, usable capacity, 4,140 acre-ft, 
     14.6 mi upstream since 1939 and by LaDue Reservoir, usable capacity, 
     18,110 acre-ft, 9.8 mi upstream since 1961. Water-quality data collected at 
     this site.
 EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 3670 ft3/s Jan. 23, 1959, gage 
     height 8.11 ft; minimum daily, 6.6 ft3/s Sept. 10, 1933.
