STATION.--10308200 EAST FORK CARSON RIVER BELOW MARKLEEVILLE CREEK, NEAR MARKLEEVILLE, CA
LOCATION.--Lat 38°42'50", long 119°45'50", in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.15, T.10 N., R.20 E., Alpine County, Hydrologic Unit 16050201, on right bank, 0.5 mi downstream from Markleeville Creek, 1.5 mi northeast of Markleeville, and at mi 114.75 upstream from Lahontan Dam. DRAINAGE AREA.--276 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--August 1960 to current year. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 5,400 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to October 1, 1967, at present site at datum 2.00 ft higher. REMARKS.-- A few small diversions for irrigation above station. Flow slightly regulated by several small reservoirs, total capacity, about 5,000 acre-ft. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 18,900 ft3/s, January 2, 1997, gage height, 11.78 ft; minimum daily, 12 ft3/s, September 10-13, 23, 1997.
DURING WINTER MONTHS, STAGE AND DISCHARGE MAY BE AFFECTED BY ICE IN THE CHANNEL.
