LOCATION.--Lat 40°43'40", long 116°00'30", in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.21, T.33 N., R.53 E., Elko County, Hydrologic Unit 16040101, on right bank, 1.0 mi downstream from Tonka Creek, 5 mi upstream from Susie Creek, 5.5 mi east of Carlin, 15 mi southwest of Elko, and at mi 335.73 above Derby Road bridge. DRAINAGE AREA.--4,340 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1943 to current year. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 4,931.91 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Nevada State Highway Department). REMARKS.--Many diversions for irrigation above station. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 8,250 ft3/s, May 17, 1984, gage height, 10.04 ft, maximum gage height, 10.21 ft, February 14, 1962; minimum daily, 0.20 ft3/s, August 13, 1959. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of February 28, 1910, estimated to have reached 15,000 ft3/s, based on reported stage and comparison with Humboldt River at Palisade.
