STATION.--14178000 NORTH SANTIAM RIVER BELOW BOULDER CREEK, NEAR DETROIT, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 44° 42'25", long 122° 06'00", in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.17, T.10 S., R.6 E., Marion
County, Hydrologic Unit 17090005, on right bank 0.5 mi downstream from Boulder Creek, 3.0 mi
southeast of Detroit, and at mile 70.7.
DRAINAGE AREA.--216 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--January 1907 to October 1909, October 1928 to current year. Monthly discharge
only January 1907, published in WSP 1318. Prior to October 1952, published as "at Detroit."
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,590.07 ft above NGVD of 1929. See WSP
1738 for history of changes prior to Oct. 1, 1952.
REMARKS.-- No regulation or diversion upstream from station. Continuous water-quality records
for the period April 1951 to September 1987 have been collected at this location.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 26,700 ft3/s Dec. 22, 1964, slope-area
measurement of peak flow, gage height, 13.76 ft, temporary backwater from debris; minimum
discharge, 250 ft3/s Sept. 13, 1909.
