LOCATION.--Lat 44° 29'55", long 122°49’20”, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.28, T.12 S., R.1 W.,
Linn County, Hydrologic Unit 17090006, on left bank 0.1 mi downstream from highway bridge at Waterloo,
2.1 mi upstream from Hamilton Creek, and at mile 23.3.
DRAINAGE AREA.--640 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1905 to March 1907, October 1910 to December 1911 (gage heights only
January to December 1911), July 1923 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods,
published in WSP 1318. Published as South Fork of Santiam River at Waterloo 1905-07, 1910-11.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 370.39 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to
Dec. 31, 1911, nonrecording gage at site 0.5 mi downstream at datum about 5.0 ft lower.
July 1, 1923, to Nov. 12, 1934, nonrecording gage, at present site and datum.
REMARKS.--Flow regulated since October 1966 by Green Peter Lake (station 14186100) and
since December 1966 by Foster Lake (station 14186600). Some diversion upstream from station.
Continuous water-quality records for the period October 1963 to September 1987 have been
collected at this location.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 95,200 ft3/s Dec. 22, 1964, gage height,
24.50 ft; minimum discharge, 61 ft3/s Oct. 12, 1966.
