USGS 14211500 JOHNSON CREEK AT SYCAMORE, OR

Station operated in cooperation with the cities of Portland, Gresham, and Milwaukie,
the counties of Clackamas and Multnomah, and the U.S. Geological Survey.


STATION.-- 14211500 JOHNSON CREEK AT SYCAMORE, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 45° 28'40", long 122° 30'24", in lot 2, SW 1/4 sec.13, T.1S., R.2E., Multnomah County, Hydrologic Unit 17090012, on left bank 0.3 mi southwest of Sycamore station, 2.5 mi east of city limits of Portland, and at mile 10.2. DRAINAGE AREA.--26.5 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1940 to current year. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 228.47 ft above NGVD of 1929. REMARKS.--Since January 1980, an occasional overflow from the Powell Butte Reservoir enters Johnson Creek at Circle Avenue, mile 11.6. Slight diurnal fluctuation at low flow caused by recreational ponds upstream. Small diversions for irrigation upstream from station. Computed discharge during summer and fall months may be affected by backwater from beaver dams. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 2,620 ft3/s Dec. 22, 1964, gage height, 14.68 ft; minimum discharge, 0.08 ft3/s Aug. 21, 1966. Flood of February 7, 1996, 2,350 ft3/s, gage height 14.28 ft. FORECAST.--Additional data for this gage and others in the Willamette basin can be found at the National Weather Service homepage.
