STATION.--14301500 WILSON RIVER NEAR TILLAMOOK, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 45° 28'34", long 123° 43'26", in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.13, T.1 S., R.9 W.,
Tillamook County, Hydrologic Unit 17100203, on right bank 1.3 mi downstream from Ming Creek, 6.0 mi east of Tillamook, and at river mile 9.3. [location map]
DRAINAGE AREA.--161 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1914 to September 1915, August to November 1916, July 1931 to
current year. Prior to January 1915 monthly discharge only, published in WSP 1318.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 42.12 ft above NGVD of 1929.
Dec. 18, 1914, to Nov. 4, 1916, nonrecording gage at site 2.8 mi downstream at different
datum. July 30, 1931, to Sept.30, 1938, nonrecording gage at site 2.82 mi downstream at
datum 28.83 ft lower. Oct. 1, 1938, to Oct. 17, 1968, water-stage recorder at site
2.1 mi downstream at datum 29.76 ft lower.
REMARKS.--No regulation. Small diversions for domestic use upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 36,000 ft3/s Jan. 20, 1972, gage height,
16.91 ft; maximum gage height, 20.26 ft Dec. 22, 1964 (site and datum then in use);
minimum discharge, 32 ft3/s Sept. 5, 1973, but may have been less for short period
following a landslide Jan. 31, 1965.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood in February 1916 reached a stage of 20.8 ft, from
floodmark, site and datum then in use.
