STATION.--14305500 SILETZ RIVER AT SILETZ, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 44° 42'55", long 123° 53'10", in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.11, T.10 S., R.10 W.,
Lincoln County, Hydrologic Unit 17100204, on right bank, 1.8 mi downstream from
Baker Creek, 1.5 mi east of Siletz, and at mile 42.6.[location map]
DRAINAGE AREA.--202 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1905 to November 1911, January to May 1912, January to
June 1924, November 1924 to current year. Prior to December 1905 monthly discharge only,
published in WSP 1318.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 102.32 ft above NGVD of 1929. Oct. 1,
1905, to Sept 30, 1938, nonrecording gage at various sites within 2.5 mi
downstream at different datums.
REMARKS.--Slight regulation from logponds. Small diversions upstream from station for
irrigation. Continuous water-quality records for the period February 1972 to
September 1985 have been collected at this location.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.-- Maximum discharge, 53,800 ft3/s Nov. 26, 1999 gage height,
28.62 ft,from rating curve extended above 22,700 ft3/s on basis of slope-area measurement
of peak flow; minimum discharge, 47 ft3/s Oct. 20, 21, 29, 1987.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of Nov. 20, 1921, reached a stage of 31.6 ft,
at site 2.5 mi downstream at different datum, from floodmark, discharge, 40,800 ft3/s,
from rating curve extended above 17,000 ft3/s.
