14316500 NORTH UMPQUA RIVER ABOVE COPELAND CREEK, NEAR TOKETEE FALLS, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 43° 17'45", long 122° 32'10", in NW 1/4 sec.24, T.26 S., R.2 E., Douglas County,
Hydrologic Unit 17100301, Umpqua National Forest, on left bank 0.6 mi upstream from Copeland
Creek, 4.7 mi west of town of Toketee Falls, and at mile 67.2.
DRAINAGE AREA.--475 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1949 to current year. Monthly discharge only September 1949,
published in WSP 1318. Prior to October 1952, published as "above Copeland Creek."
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,580 ft above NGVD of 1929, from river-profile map.
Prior to Aug. 1, 1976, on right bank at same datum.
REMARKS.--Considerable fluctuation caused by powerplants upstream; flow slightly regulated by
Diamond Lake and by Lemolo Lake (station 14313000). No diversion upstream from station. Several
measurements of water temperature were made during the year.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 40,700 ft3/s Dec. 22, 1964, gage height,
19.1 ft, from floodmark, from rating curve extended above 7,200 ft3/s on basis of slope-area
measurement of peak flow; minimum discharge, 345 ft3/s July 24, 1992; minimum daily, 565 ft3/s
Sept. 13, 1959.
