STATION.--14353000 WEST FORK ASHLAND CREEK NEAR ASHLAND, OR
LOCATION.--Lat 42° 08'55", long 122° 42'55" near line between NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.28,
T.39 S., R.1 E., Jackson County, Hydrologic Unit 17100308, in Rogue River National Forest,
on left bank 0.3 mi upstream from city diversion, 2.5 mi south of Ashland, and at mile 0.4.
DRAINAGE AREA.--10.5 mi2, at diversion dam 0.3 mi downstream.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1924 to January 1933, water years 1954-60, 1963, annual
maximum; December 1974 to September 1982, Oct. 2002 to current year. Monthly discharge
only for some periods published in WSP 1318.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 2,962.75 ft above NGVD
of 1929. Sept. 10, 1924, to Jan. 31, 1933, water-stage recorder at site about 0.2 mi
upstream at different datum. Oct. 14, 1953 to Sept. 30, 1963, crest-stage gage at diversion
dam 0.3 mi downstream at different datum.
REMARKS.--No regulation or diversionabove station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 330 ft3/s Dec. 2, 1962, gage height,
15.51 ft, site and datum then in use, from rating curve defined by computation of peak
flow over dam; minimum, 1.3 ft3/s Aug. 29, 1931, Sept. 8, 9, 1977.
