Proposed Amendments to the By-Laws

EXPLANATIONS

In the amendments described below, all language proposed for addition to what is currently in the By-Laws is written in bold print, and what is proposed for deletion is written in {italics}. Basically, what these proposed changes do is extend the term of office from one year to two years.

 

BYLAW VI - OFFICERS AND THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE

Section 2. Elected officers of the chapter shall serve for a term of {one year} two years, beginning on July 1 of even numbered years, or until their successors qualify. Upon expiration of the term of the President, the President-Elect shall become President and serve {one year} two years in that office.

BYLAW VII - ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Section 1. The officers of the Chapter shall be elected by mail during {each April for the succeeding July 1-June 30 year} April of even-numbered years for the succeeding two-year term from July 1 - June 30 of the next even-numbered year.

BYLAW IX - COMMITTEES

Section 3. The Nominations Committee consists of three members of the Chapter appointed by the Executive Committee, {each serving one-year term}, each serving two-year terms, no one of whom may be a member of the Executive Committee. The Nominations Committee shall provide {each year) on even numbered years one or more eligible nominees for the following positions: President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and however many Committee positions need to be filled.
