Dear Fellow Sigma Xi Members,
Sigma Xi will once again judge regional high school science fairs. This is an annually supported effort that our FDA Sigma Xi Chapter values as an important outreach function for mentoring the young scientists in our area. It may take a Saturday morning out of your busy schedule, but more importantly, you will be encouraging and mentoring these students in their pursuit of science. These students really do value and crave feedback from "real" scientists. You will gain as much from the experience as the students receive from you. You will be judging the fair on behalf of the FDA Chapter of Sigma Xi. Attached is a Guide which contains additional information regarding Sigma Xi's science fair judging. Ideally, we would like several judges for each science fair. With your help and commitment we can, as FDA representatives to our area youth, maintain this important presence. The following are the dates of the regional science fairs:If you can volunteer to judge any of the above regional science fairs, please contact me for specific details. This is an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning and usually food is provided for the judges.
