Director of USA Freedom Corps Appears on Internet Radio Program to Discuss Business Involvement with Volunteer Service

Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps Desiree T. Sayle participated in a live interview on the “Tammy Says…” Internet radio program Monday, October 25, 2004, to talk about how businesses are encouraging volunteer service in their communities. Director of USA Freedom Corps and President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation Members Volunteer at Washington, D.C. School

Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps Desiree T. Sayle joined members of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to help renovate and enhance Watkins Elementary School in Southeast Washington, D.C., on Thursday, September 30, 2004. Participants made improvements to the playground, worked on landscaping, completed projects with students in classrooms, and spoke with students about the importance of volunteer service. Volunteers also created a memorial garden for a Watkins teacher who died last school year.

President George W. Bush met Donna Campbell upon arrival in Bellevue, Nebraska, on Monday, October 25, 2004. Campbell, 64, is an active volunteer with the food program at Messenger of Hope Ministries at the Christian Worship Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
